The 9th Annual NAABA Business Showcase and Tradeshow was recently held with over 40 exhibitors and Industry representatives participating. The Showcase and Reception was proudly sponsored by WPS. The Showcase is a great example of how NAABA makes a tremendous effort to promote Aboriginal businesses, jobs and training for native people in the region. The keynote address was presented by David Tuccaro, a founding member and past president of the organization. David, a positive and upbeat speaker, discussed the current challenges facing our industry and how it is important to adapt business to handle these adversities. David also spoke of NAABA’s growth and how other Aboriginal groups are using the NAABA organization as a model for their initiatives.

In June 2015, Fort McMurray was host to the Syncrude Boreal Open Presented by AECON. The Tuccaro Group has proudly been a major sponsor of this event for the past five years. This tournament sees some of the best golfers from around the world descend on Fort McMurray to compete for a purse of $175,000 and is a part of the PGA Tour Canada. The weather, the golf course and the competition were fantastic, culminating in Kevin Spooner’s victory after a five-hole playoff. Our employees were able to partake in the fun and enjoy the tournament as spectators as well.
Our commitment to our community
Tuccaro was the proud name sponsor of the 2015-2016 PeeWee AA Junior Oil Barons. This included being the host city for the 2016 Peewee AA Provincial Championships held in March at Frank Lacroix Arena in Fort McMurray. This exciting weekend brought hundreds together from around the province to enjoy a wonderful occasion of hockey and camaraderie and was a hugely successful event.
